What We Do

CFL offers end to end services for imports and exports. Pick up at origin through to destination delivery, by air freight, ocean freight and including customs & quarantine clearance.

Today CFL is an Australian Trusted Trader with partners in 191 countries through the World Cargo Alliance (WCA) network. WCA is the largest network of ‘independent’ freight forwarders in the world. Our WCA partners are structured in a similar way to CFL, meaning the owners are usually very ‘hands on’, ensuring a consistently high care factor for us and our clients. We have ‘multiple’ WCA member partners in each country, meaning unlike multi-national freight forwarders, we ‘never’ have to work with under performing partners.

Our Start

Commercial Freight & Logistics (CFL) opened the doors for business in 1980 as Commercial CustomsServices (CCS). Quickly establishing a reputation as a high class customs brokerage, CCS developed relationships with small, medium and large clients across varying industries.

In the process establishing knowledge and expertise of a wide range of imported and exported commodities. In the 1990’s our international freight forwarding product was added to the very successful customs brokerage.

Our Attitude

CFL takes pride in its innovative attitude towards technology. CFL clients have tremendous shipment visibility though our portal ensuring they always have accurate shipment journey milestones, and access to a comprehensive suite of ‘all’ documents relating to ‘all’ shipments.

We constantly receive glowing feedback on our online information product, and we have opened up our system to integrate with our clients to further enhance information flow efficiencies.

Our advanced technology attitude enabled us to become a ‘paperless’ company in 2017. In the process we have saved many trees, handled the COVID19 pandemic smoothly andsafely for our staff, saved money on paper & toners, and taken responsibility for looking after our planet.

CFL’s industry recognition in recent years includes, Customs Broker of the Year Winner, and Highly Commended twice, and Freight forwarder of the Year Winner and Finalist. Due in no small part to the wonderful, loyal team. CFL has long since recognised that taking great care of staff results in a team that delivers consistently high level care for clients. Many team members are multi skilled across different operational roles, including a high ratio of cross skilled Licensed Customs Brokers.
