China Shipping Update - Vessel Delays and Typhoon Disruptions
Shipping services from China to Australia continue to experience delays due to ongoing vessel schedule changes, revised port rotations and disruptions across key Asian ports. These changes are affecting vessel arrival times and, in some cases, resulting in missed port calls, extended transit times and delays to connecting services.
The recent passage of Typhoon Champi through the region is expected to place further pressure on shipping schedules. Severe weather can disrupt port operations and vessel movements, with knock-on effects as vessels adjust their schedules and work to recover lost time.
What you need to know
Vessel delays: Ongoing schedule changes and revised port rotations are affecting planned departure and arrival dates.
Weather disruptions: Typhoon-related impacts may cause further delays to vessel movements and port operations.
Extended transit times: Delays may flow through to connecting services and subsequent sailings as schedules are adjusted.
Delivery planning: Customers should allow additional time for shipments and remain flexible with delivery arrangements where possible.
CFL is continuing to monitor developments and work closely with our overseas partners and shipping lines to obtain the latest updates. We will keep customers informed of any significant changes affecting their shipments.

Rising Transport Costs and Industry Surcharges
The freight and logistics industry continues to face increasing operating costs, driven by rising charges from shipping lines, airlines, depots and port terminals. Depot booking fees continue to increase, while airlines are regularly reviewing and raising ground handling charges. Higher oil prices are also adding further pressure, contributing to increased fuel surcharges across international freight and local transport services.
CFL continues to monitor these developments and work closely with our service providers to manage costs wherever possible. While some increases are beyond our control, we remain committed to keeping customers informed of changes that may affect their shipments and transport budgets.

Airfreight Capacity and Rate Increases
Airfreight capacity is becoming increasingly tight, with rates continuing to rise and bookings facing delays as many services are already heavily overbooked.
A significant amount of available capacity is being absorbed by demand from the IT and data centre sectors. This pressure is expected to intensify as we approach Christmas, when late-season orders and urgent shipments place additional demand on airfreight services.
What you need to know
Rising rates: Airfreight costs are increasing as available capacity tightens.
Limited space: Bookings may be delayed or rolled over to later flights due to overbooked services.
Peak-season demand: Christmas-related shipments are expected to place further pressure on available capacity.
We recommend planning shipments as early as possible and allowing additional time for bookings and transit. Early arrangements will be increasingly important to help secure space and minimise potential delays during the busy lead-up to Christmas.

Credit Card Payment Update
Following recent changes to credit card surcharge arrangements in Australia, CFL has updated its credit card payment process.
Customers can continue to pay by credit card through a new secure third-party payment portal, accessible via the link on our website. This payment option will also soon be available directly through our invoices for added convenience.
The portal supports most major credit cards; however, American Express (Amex) is not accepted.
We appreciate your understanding as we implement these changes and thank you for your continued support.
